Empower MediaMarketing Inc. is seeking a skilled Director of Finance and Accounting with experience and working knowledge of marketing, advertising, and/or media industries. This position will be responsible for finance, accounting and certain advertising operations of Empower MediaMarketing Inc. The position reports directly to the CFO.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Practice Leader representing finance, accounting, client financial services ( billing) and advertising operations.
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 employees
- Manage monthly financial closing and reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual P&L and cash flow and balance sheet forecasts
- Plan and prepare the annual budget and forecasts working with other leaders throughout the company
- Maintain corporate accounting records and assist in the preparation of schedules, and records with outside accounting firm
- Safeguard assets and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Prepare tax schedules, forms as required
- Ensure operational effectiveness throughout the finance and accounting process.
- Perform special projects and ad hoc reports as directed by the CFO, President and COO.
- Works to establish clear, consistent processes between departments
- Review and streamline processes throughout the media, digital and word of mouth offerings.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Operational effectiveness
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Detail orientation, “hands on” approach, superior quantitative skills
- Curious, passionate, creative, able to clearly articulate problems and solve them analytically
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. (MBA /CPA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience with 3+ years public accounting and at least 3+ years in a service oriented business
