As an Investment Engineer, you’ll help us achieve our mission by finding ways to generalize how we solve engineering problems — not solving just what is in front of you, but abstracting — then designing the complex systems that represent our knowledge of how the economy and portfolio management work, building them to run efficiently and reliably into the future.
You’ll Click With Us If You
- Are logical and practical, the type of person who is interested in and attracted to complexity
- Enjoy solving problems, pushing forward to find a solution even when it initially appears there isn’t one
- Can connect concepts to goals and get energized by turning ideas into realities
- Aim to engineer structures that last — ensuring problems are solved in a global way — rather than cobbling together slapdash systems just to get the job done
- Prize elegance as much as sustainability in your designs — and go the extra mile to achieve it
You’ll Grow With Us By
- Undergoing our intensive nine-month training program in investment content fundamentals and systemization principles
- Rotating through our investment departments to broaden your exposure and understanding
- Taking on increasingly impactful projects as your skills improve and your knowledge compounds
- Giving back to the investment engineering program as you move from mentee to mentor
You’ll Spend Your Time
- Partnering with our teams who research economic and investment concepts to understand their views deeply
- Translating those concepts into systems that create tangible, metricized results — visualizing multiple solutions and choosing the one that will achieve the goal in the most sustainable way
- Using a balance of applied engineering principles, practical cut-through ability, your own intuition, and cutting-edge technology to build systems at the highest level, seeing them in a holistic way
- Refining your designs continually, ensuring they’re of the highest quality possible for those who will be executing and running them, and that they produce increasingly powerful results
- Leading the way in thinking about how our systems work, allowing us to research faster, visualize better, and provide our CIOs with crisper insights into our portfolios
