We won’t be able to build the most diverse, climate-ambitious, and values-aligned class of appointees in DOE history without your help. This document will provide the process, as well as some FAQs around how to submit candidates for consideration at DOE, or the administration in general. 

On the next page, you will enter your referred candidate detail.

What happens next

    • You will get an acknowledgement once WHLO has processed them into our resume bank. 
    • The Candidate will receive and acknowledgement that the WHLO has received their resume
    • The WHLO will then conduct an initial review of the resume to determine potential fits within the applicable hiring priorities, and schedule an interview as needed.
    • The WHLO will retain resumes and will continue to review them throughout the Administration.
Things to note:
Unfortunately, the WHLO does not have the bandwidth to conduct informational interviews with all candidates. Candidates who are interviewed, will still have to go through several hurdles before starting at DOE. Hiring is impacted by a number of factors: current hiring priority (as decided by YOU, DOE leadership, and PPO), ensuring a team the looks like America, staffing suggestions as provided by PPO, your colleagues and other DOE leadership, ensuring that all candidates meet the high bar of appointee criteria (climate ambitious, unconflicted, 99% teamwork)If a candidate is a better fit for another agency, the WHLO will work to send that resume to it’s counterpart office in that agency. Each WHLO will likely have distinct systems to intaking referred resumes, and it is not
